Forms are a set of martial arts techniques performed in different stances, facing different directions. The form begins and ends with a traditional bow, paying
respect to past masters. A form can be practiced at different speeds (1-4 minutes) to increase your cardio, arm and leg coordination, and mental discipline.
Among different fitness options, there are many that do not have the deep roots, lasting knowledge and wide-ranging effects of martial arts study. People often find that they are not getting anything out of passing fads. Kung fu training is based upon centuries of experience–trial and error. Practitioners get out of it as much as they put into it, and a whole discipline of mind, body and spirit opens up to them. Commitment to this practice only gets more interesting and fulfilling over time. Kung fu is also an ideal workout for adults. Classes are conveniently scheduled in the evenings, a great time to punch and kick things out and build up a sweat in a supportive learning environment.
